Doc will be performing with a new band, Doc Span Blues, doing live versions of the material from 'Something for the Pain' and 'The Treatment', written by Matthew Cang and Doc Span and tracks off the brand new CD 'Live In Australia'
The five piece band also plays Chicago blues and includes such great players as Glen Muirhead at the keyboards, Gus Fenwick on bass, Max Sportelli on drums and Tim Gaze on guitar
with Doc on harmonica and vocal.
Doc has also been performing with Ross Williams at selected gigs. The pair was on the road together for 11 years touring all over Australia from 1990 to 2001.
In 2007, Doc was on tour with Fiona boyes and the Fortune Tellers, Blues on the Rocks (Kevin Borich, Phil Emanuel), and in New Zealand with the fabulous Darcy Perry Band. Another tour in February 2009 will see Doc playing with Mike Garner. He also played the Caloundra Music Fesival, Blues on Broadbeach and The Woodford Folk Festival in 2007.
In 2008 Doc played the Ipswich Music Festival, Great Southern Blues and Rockabilly Festival, and Blues On Broadbeach.
